Shower and Shower Pan

To get the shower pan ready we had to make a ledge. Normally you use three 2x4's on their sides. Since we already have a concrete foundation Shane poured a concrete ledge for the shower.

This is a picture of Shane spreading out the glue in order to lay down the shower pan.

Here is Shane laying out the rubber shower pan. It was a sticky mess. I had to get in there and help him.

We thought using the rolling pin from the kitchen might help to roll out the plastic and get the air bubbles out. Ya, um, not so much.

Here is Shane smoothing out the rubber liner and pushing it into the creases.

After we got the shower pan mostly done we were able to start putting up the cementboard for the shower wall. The tile will go all the way up to the ceiling. It makes the shower seem so huge.

Sydnie had to get in on the action. In this picture all the cementboard is up and Shane has the different tiles out so we can see how they will all go together.

The rest of the cementboard. You can see the little nook we made for the shampoo and stuff. On the right side of the picture you can see the pain color I chose for the bathroom. I had to put it on the wall so I could see it on the wall and envision it!

Last night we layed the last layer of concrete for the shower pan. We ran out of concrete so Shane wasn't able to finish it completely. Tonight hopefully. Once the concrete is dry we can start putting up the shower wall tile.
