Phase 1

The first thing we plan to do (besides buy stuff) is to replace the window on the south wall with a door. Put up an outside light, and pour a cement stoop.
Shane went to Home Depot near the first part of January to order the door. We were told it would be ready for pick up around Wednesday, February 1st. On Monday January 30th, we had received a phone call from Home Depot saying the delivery of our custom door had been delayed, and it would be ready for pick up till February 10th. We were a little frustated but still okay with it. So it came as a surprise when yesterday Thursday February 2nd we received a phone call that our door was ready for pickup.

Shane went over with the truck as soon as he got home from work to pick it up. It barely fit in the back of our pickup box. When he got home he wanted scrawny little me to help him move it into our bedroom. Shane slide it around in the bed of the truck so we could get a better grip on it, it slide off the side railing and fell down onto the the tire box. The window that runs along the left side of the window had come away from the frame a little. We were scared that it was broken beyond repair. It was just a couple of wooden pegs and some glue that held the two pieces (door and window) together. Once we got it out of the truck everything went back into place and it was okay. We moved the door into our bedroom and layed it up against the wall covering the window. We hope that we'll be able to start on the project tomorrow, Saturday February 4th.
