Plumbing: CHECK!

The friend in our ward arranged for a plumber to come to our house to do all the plumbing. The plumber got here and proceeded to argue with Shane over everything. What we wanted to do wouldn't work. The drains would empty slowly, we would loose water pressure if both sinks were on at the same time, our plan for the tub and shower water lines and drains wouldn't work. So on and so on. I left for volleyball and Shane stayed home with the plumber.

When I got home from volleyball (2 hours later), the plumber was gone and Shane was working on the plumbing himself. The plumber had began working on the water lines for the tub and shower but hadn't taken into consideration that the lines needed to split to go to the shower. At that point Shane was so frustrated he told the plumber to stop, that he would pay him for his time and that they just needed to cut his loses.

In the end Shane is glad that he ended up doing it himself. He did everything the way he had envisioned and drawn up. It all worked very well and he learned a lot about smelting copper lines etc.

Here are the pictures of the finished plumbing lines. This is a picture of the plumbing for the two pedestal sinks.

This is the picture of the sinks installed. After Shane got the floor tile down he immediately got the wainscotting and the two pedestal sinks installed. He got the faucets and the drains installed. As soon as it was done he moved all his stuff back into the bathroom.

He knows showers in the second bathroom. Gets dressed in the extra bedroom where our "closet" is and shaves and brushes his teeth at his new sink!

  • Some people (the plumber) are idiots. Some people (your husband) are not. Your bathroom is really shaping up! I'm excited! I also think it's great that he's already moving back into the bathroom.
